ELEMENTS OF COMMUNICATION

THE SENDER OR TRANSMITTER : This is the source-encoder who usually begins the process of communication. He gets the message ready and decides on the channel or medium to use.The transmitter takes a decision on the code to use and its management. For communication to be effective,
1.  the sender must have adequate information,
2. He must be able to present the information or message in forms that the receiver will understand,
3. He must use appropriate channel that will convey the message the decoder,
4.The message must motivate the receiver's self interest.

THE RECEIVER- DECODER : The decoder receives the message or information. The decoder processes and reacts to the message.  The decoder must be ready to listen and participate actively in the communication process for it to be effective. Further more, the decoder and encoder must share similar knowledge or meaning of the message.

THE MESSAGE : The message of information is the major element in the communication process. The message is the idea, feeling ,opinion, thought, or attitude  which is transmitted to the decoder-receiver.It must be well-arranged with the appropriate symbols understandable to the receiver-decoder.An appropriate medium or channel has to be chosen to make the communication effective.
